Tittle- AKPA UCHE
Dark matter series
Medium-ink on paper
Size- 16*20

About work
Set on Igbo Cosmological Narrative. The tortoise stands as a mythological figure with a very big bag of wisdom. It has been argued by most Igbo scholars that, against popular belief that the Tortoise is not "tricky" or "cunning" rather he is "Creative". Thus creativity helps him paddle through life circumstances. The piece actually reflects the historical moment when the tortoise wants to pack all the knowledge in this world in one bag...... you really want to hear the end of this story.
No man can know it all………

Tittle- I AM

ABOut worK
Reflected on the mystery's behind the power of self, identity and duality. THE man in-between true self, hides in the shadows of our artistic becoming and essence. unknown, alien, beckoning on infinite extra mental realities to define our unknown power, taking us to wider horizons, exploring planets unknown, language uninterruptible, bringing the power of the invisible presence to life.....then after life?

Tittle- WORD WEAVER( BASSEY IKPI)
Dark matter series.
Medium- ink on paper.
Size;16*20.

About work
The work reflects the duality of the African and the quest to find true balance.
After listening to her masterpiece  "homeward " I decided to reflect her portrait that way. The gheco lizard at the top left is a reflection of the invisible presence that protects Africans in a foreign Land. The tortoise is her wisdom and vast knowledge. The seeming Chinese calligraphy surrounding her is her mastery of language and spinning of words. The hatched part of her face is her African identity; All revolving in a backdrop of cosmic becoming of symbols of infinite ideas. I chose to depict her with my style of art because it makes me see myself and my struggle for true balance too.
Homeward.Duality. You.Mystery.Words. Alive. Change .Ideas. Wisdom.
I tell you, if you haven't listened to HOMEWARD, And you are African, you miss.

Tittle- GENDER; What is?
Dark matter series
Medium- Ink on paper
Size- 16*20

          About work
Reflected on the idea of gender and how it affect our mind. The contemporary world had redefined what it is to be male or female or any idea in between. But something will always remain constant- A woman would always be on the cross

Tittle- UGO
Dark matter series
Medium-ink on paper
Size- 16*20

About work
The ugo in Igbo cosmology is a symbol of peace, purity and coexistence. It is said to only scale the highest heaven where other birds cannot. It is said to be spotless, fierce and white. Some call it the king of birds. Some say by beholding it one is blessed in his lifetime. I’m fascinated by the tales of this winged creature as well as the phoenix.
Tittle- POWER
Dark matter series
Medium-ink on paper
Size- 16*20

About work
The problem with Nigeria is power. Power in ‘‘politics’’ and ‘‘power holding''. The work reflects the desires of the average Nigerian to behold steady power supply in politics, in power. The staggering network of lines is the pattern which power and the drive of power "electricity" flows, unsteady, volatile, harsh, and corrosive...
‘‘Power is not the bulb, but electricity "
"To be power, be the force of power and not the holder of power"

Tittle- NETWORK OF IDEAS
Dark matter series
Medium- Ink on paper
Size- 2*3ft

          About work
This work explores the power of seemingly nonsense ideas which weave into each other to form the creative nub of self-consciousness, awareness and dynamism. It seeks to x-ray the idea that "nonsense" is relative, and creativity is "crazytivity" and defines the beauty in freedom of thought and speech using transparence in
pragmatics..... What is thought and what is meant
